How to Integrate Social Media with your Squarespace Site
In today's digital day and age, social media has become an absolute powerhouse for shaping the success of businesses online. With millions of potential customers scrolling through their feeds daily, it's no wonder that integrating social media into your business strategy is more crucial than ever before!
Not only do social media platforms like Facebook, Tiktok, Pinterest, or Instagram, serve as an amazing gateway to vast audiences, they allow businesses to connect directly with potential customers and to foster a sense of community.
This has become an increasingly important strategy, allowing smaller businesses to differentiate from cold and calculated corporate brands, letting their brand personalities shine through to create real human connection that not only attracts new customers but also retains them.
Think about it, would you prefer to buy from or use the services of a business which posted a reel that made you chuckle, answered your questions directly via a Stories poll, and has tons of people commenting all about how great they are; or from a brand who doesn't even have an Instagram account yet?
In that sense, social media can also be considered an important form of vetting, giving your business credibility and building a community of brand advocates who will gladly spread good words about your business for you!
But did you know social media is also great for SEO? Those engaging posts you create on topics that your potential customers want answers to will boost your search engine rankings and give your business' visibility a definite rise!
This will also signal to search engines that the content you create is valuable, and by integrating your social media directly into your website, allow for better consistency, link building, and ease of sharing, all things that Google loves!
Luckily, Squarespace makes it oh-so-easy easy to integrate your social media accounts directly into your website. So to help you execute your social media strategy seamlessly, here's everything you need to know about which social media platforms you can connect, and the step by step on how to do so!

How to connect social media accounts to your Squarespace site
As opposed to just linking your social media accounts, connecting your social media accounts will require you to actually log into your social account via Squarespace to provide a whole different level of access.
This feature is not available for all social media platforms but we highly recommend at least connecting your Instagram account (if you have one) so that you can make full use of Squarespace's Instagram block to display your feed on your site π
To connect your social media accounts to your Squarespace site, head to Settings > Third Party Tools > Connected Accounts.
Click the Connect Account button and follow the prompts to login and authorize the social media account(s) of your choice.
Once you've done so, you'll be able to use the features below (depending on which accounts you've connected!) π

Use the slider to choose how many items from your Instagram grid you would like to display in the block (10 items = 10 posts).
Next, switch to the Design tab to configure the look of your feed.
You will have the option to choose between various layouts, including a grid, slideshow or carousel, as well as various adjustments regarding size, thumbnails, and padding.
Remember that you can stretch the block to be as small or as wide as you like on the grid.
How to enable Pinterest save buttons on your Squarespace site
If you are using Pinterest as part of your marketing strategy, then enabling Pinterest Save buttons on your site is a good idea to help spread the word about your business on the platform!
Pinterest Save buttons will display on just about any image on your site, including any image in image blocks, on blog pages, and store pages that is bigger than 120x120px.
Save buttons will NOT appear on images in gallery pages or blocks (apart from within blog posts), lightboxes, portfolio pages, or summary blocks.
To enable Pinterest save buttons on your site, go to Settings > Website > Pinterest Save Buttons.
In the dropdown, select whether you would like to enable Save buttons on just your Blog, or on your Blog as well as all Pages and Products.

How to automatically post content to Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, or Tumblr
In your Squarespace site, head back to Settings > Third Party Tools > Connected Accounts.
Click on your connected accounts to view additional settings. Make sure to tick Show Push Option and select a push target from the dropdown. This lets Squarespace know where to post if you have multiple Facebook Pages or Pinterest boards linked to your account.
Click Save.
Next time you are ready to post or schedule a blog post, go to the blog post's Settings > Share.
Note! Social sharing will be turned off by default, so you will have to activate it every time a new post is ready to publish or schedule.

You will also be able to preset a description if you want to in the Message field.
